Application area of software components based on OLAP technologies is quite wide: from creation of financial and sales reporting systems to opinion surveys and web statistics analysis. OLAP ModelKit™ 2.1 is fully compatible with Visual Studio 2003 & 2005 and MS .NET Framework 1.1 & 2.0. It is written in C# and contains only managed code. However, product flexibility and functionality is in every bit as good as that of analogous ActiveX components. OLAP ModelKit™ 2.1 allows developers to embed an effective OLAP technology in all Windows applications based on relational data, allowing end users to interact with huge databases, summarizing and exploring data infinitely.

Data processing.
OLAP ModelKit™ 2.1 supports all .NET data source, including ADO.NET and third-party business objects. The following manipulations with data are available: dynamic data sorting and filtering by assigned or arbitrary conditions, interactive grouping of values, ranged dimensions creation, sorting by the total columns and many others. It is possible to create an unlimited number of dimensions.

Support for expression language along with the convenient report wizard allow users to arbitrary adapt an application, to add custom fields, dimensions and clauses at a pivot table design-time as well as at an application and run-time. OLAP ModelKit™ 2.1 supports a rich set of aggregate functions and allows the creation of custom functions. That makes possible to calculate different aggregates for the same data.

Data visualization.
Quality data visualization is a decisive superiority of each analytical system. In many cases, expert needs just to have a glance at data to make a decision. OLAP ModelKit™ 2.1 allows presenting data with a fully compatible component for charts and graphs creation, Chart ModelKit™, as well as with any third-party charting component.

To provide maximum operational comfort, OLAP ModelKit™ 2.1 makes possible to set special modes for the cell values display. For example, values can be displayed as percents or as a progress bar that fills the cell depending on the percent value.

OLAP ModelKit™ 2.1 uses different appearance styles including XP that allow users to execute reports in the most professional manner. Using more than 30 styles performed in different color gammas, developers are able to quick and easy create reports which are sure to meet end-user requirements. Moreover, it is possible to change all appearance properties at design and run-time. As an alternative, the product supports ability to use custom styles.

As the need arose, it is possible to export a report to Excel, HTML or PDF formats.
