05/22/2006 - OLAP ModelKit™ 2.0 is available.
Developing the technology of interactive reporting and data analysis, Perpetuum Software LLC announces the release of a new version of OLAP ModelKit™. This component features extensive analytical capabilities which are irreplaceable in the development of highly-effective applications for current and total accounting.
OLAP ModelKit™ 2.0 includes the following distinguishing features:
Optimization
- Rearrangement of the library core increases calculation speed and decreases short-term memory usage as well
- Calculations can be carried out in a separate thread without “freezing” the application’s user interface. If required, calculations can be interrupted by the user.
- It is now possible to manage calculations manually; a developer can deactivate automatic calculating and recalculate the pivot table according to the user’s demands. For example, it is possible to specify a set of filters and then to recalculate a pivot table.
Extended Functionality
- Interactive grouping of values allows sophisticated and effective analysis.
- Sorting by total columns makes quantitative data analysis easier; just click on the corresponding total.
- It is possible to access the set of source data used for any pivot table cell calculation and to analyze and edit these data.
- The built-in expression language includes a number of new functions which facilitate working with strings and dates.
Extended export options
- A PDF export filter has been added.
- Excel export filter modification ensures a correct display of any pivot table.
User-friendliness
- Separate utilization examples are replaced by a unified sample browser. Now an example demonstrating needed functionality can be found in a moment. In addition, the set of utilization samples has been considerably enlarged.
- The list of OLAP ModelKit™ localizations has been expanded; the package now contains Romanian, Thai, Danish, Czech, German, Turkish, Portuguese, and Russian localizations.
