The future of SharpShooter Reports

As far as I can judge, the development of SharpShooter Reports was largely discontinued in 2014. Only minor adjustments in the setup for new Visual Studio versions have been made.

So, the question is, how we (customers, developers) are going to port our applications to newer .NET versions (.NET 7 is coming soon)? If Perpetuum Software does not want or cannot to continue the development of its products, then at least the code base should be made open source (at least for the customers).

Okay, I know, we can buy Reports.Professional which includes the source code. But it is a too big task for each single customer to port the code base to .NET Core. It also makes no sense to do this work repeatedly by each customer. This would have to be done by the community. And I am not willing to pay a lot of money, just to be able to do the work for free that Perpetuum Software should do.

Ideally, the whole code base should be published on GitHub, so that everyone could work on it.

My demand on Perpetuum: Either hand over the development to another company which is willing to further develop the product or make the code base open source!

We, your customers, have invested a lot of time and money in developing applications using SharpShooter Reports, and we want to save our investment into the future.
