Show data continuously rather than relying on page by page.
Hi,
I need help in displaying the data continuously rather than displaying data page by page. For eg:
Page 1: has multiple detail bands, group bands , etc.
Page 2: has multiple detail bands.
Page 3: has multiple detail bands.
What I want to do is that, let's say if there is some space available in the Page 1 so it should display data from Page 2 (which it is able to accomodate). Basically we want to save pages rather than printing data page by page, if the page has space it should display data from the next page rather than keeping it empty.
FYI, our project is based on silverlight.

Thanks for the input Michael but my requirement is different, it's not about splitting detail bands. Let's say :
Page 1: detail band 1
page 2: detail band 2
Now, when we print, if there's empty space available in Page 1 then it should also accommodate detail band 2 rather than printing them in 2 separate pages.

Hello Amid,
my thought was that you could set property "NewPageAfter" on Databand/Groupband on page 1 to false if there's enough room to render detail from page 2 on page1.
(this won't work If you have databands on different pages in your reporttemplate)

You can put all your detail bands on one page in the template instead of being spread across multiple pages, and then set the "CanBreak" property on each detail band to False. That way it will always fill up the page with as many detail bands as will fit on the page.
A good tip in this case is to make the TemplateSize of the page taller. I usually set mine to be 100cm or higher. This will not affect the output, but will help you when working in the Report Designer.
